At Netherfield we believe that PE is uniquely inclusive and democratic, bringing pupils of every conceivable background together.
It challenges young people in a way that no other subject can, testing both their physical and mental capabilities.
Furthermore, it also holds an elevated place in our school by the virtue of the skills it develops and also by the values it teaches. PE helps pupils develop personally, as well as developing the social concepts of fairness and personal responsibility. Our children take on different roles and responsibilities, including leadership, coaching and officiating.
Through the range of experiences that PE offers, they learn how to be effective in competitive, creative and challenging situations. On a day-to-day basis, we inspire children to reach new heights (literally in the case of the high jump) and to explore their capabilities with confidence.
