Jacob Waplington from Year 5 was named as runner up after creating a video for a Nottinghamshire Police competition that asked the county’s schoolchildren to come up with creative ways to teach youngsters about how to protect themselves online.

Jacob will now be among the winners having their work showcased on social media channels to help spread their good advice across Nottinghamshire.

Teacher and TV personality Baasit Siddiqui, one of the judges, said: “I was blown away by the standard. All the children have been so creative and imaginative and there was so much hard work and thought gone into each entry.”

Children from across the county created films, productions, posters and songs for the competition which all aim to help children avoid falling victim to cyber crime and also committing any offences.
